Hotel didn't have a chance in fire

Quilcene, Jefferson County--A fire that destroyed the historic
Quilcene Hotel appears to have started in the lint trap of
a dryer on the first floor, investigators said Tuesday.
It took less than an hour Monday for the fire to raze the
89-year-old, two-story hotel--largely because its thin, wooden
walls had no insulation and acted as perfect kindling, Quilcene
Fire Chief Bob Wilson told the Peninsula Daily News.
No one was injured.
The Quilcene Hotel was built in 1917 as an inn for loggers
and hunters.
