GSU men's dormitory has another small fire

GRAMBLING -- Authorities are investigating a small fire that occurred today in the third-floor laundry room of Grambling State University's Pinchback Hall, the second small fire in the men's dormitory in less than a week.

The fire that was reported about 11:40 a.m. today was contained within a matter of minutes, university spokesman Ralph Wilson said. No injuries and little to no damage were reported, he said.

Wilson could not officially confirm the origin of the fire but believes it to be an electrical fire that began in a dryer.

It was a much smaller incident than the stairwell fire Wednesday believed to be the work of a student prankster, Wilson said. That fire set off sprinklers and soaked much of the seventh floor.
